New Cancers Considered in AFFF Lawsuit
In the ongoing AFFF firefighting foam lawsuit, attorneys are focusing on presenting epidemiological evidence regarding liver cancer and thyroid cancer to the defense. Following Judge Gergel’s recent case management order, plaintiffs have until April 15 to provide all relevant peer-reviewed data and published studies to the defense.
Based on emerging scientific evidence linking AFFF exposure to liver and thyroid cancer, the plaintiff steering committee anticipates a significant increase in new lawsuits being filed into the MDL. Individuals who have been diagnosed with these cancers are encouraged to submit their medical records for review, as prolonged exposure to AFFF is believed to be a causative factor.
