New Paraquat Lawsuit: Allegations of Parkinson’s Disease
A new lawsuit was filed yesterday involving Paraquat, a herbicide. The plaintiff, a 53-year-old resident of Colorado, claims prolonged exposure to Paraquat between 1996 and 1999 in Abilene, Texas, during his employment activities. He alleges direct contact with Paraquat through various means, including touching, absorbing, inhaling, or inadvertently ingesting it while working with the product.
The plaintiff asserts that this exposure led to his development of Parkinson’s disease, which was diagnosed around 2022. He believes that Paraquat’s oxidative stress, compounded by its redox cycling, caused harm to the dopaminergic neurons in his brain, resulting in their gradual degeneration and death. This case is notable due to the plaintiff’s young age and direct exposure to Paraquat, potentially making it a strong lawsuit.
