Proposal for Camp Lejeune Case: Plaintiffs’ Track 3 Submission

In a significant development, attorneys representing the plaintiffs in the Camp Lejeune case have formally proposed the inclusion of serious illnesses in Track 5 for consideration. The proposed diseases include:

  • Multiple myeloma
  • Pancreatic cancer
  • Esophageal cancer
  • Aplastic anemia/myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS)
  • Scleroderma.

Previously, the plaintiffs’ legal team had suggested liver cancer, sclerosis/scleroderma, multiple myeloma, kidney disease, and aplastic anemia for Track 3. However, with the court designating illnesses for Track 2 and removing those selected, the focus now shifts to the remaining conditions nominated for Track 5.

This move has sparked frustration among affected individuals whose illnesses will not be included in the initial tracks. The selection criteria, emphasizing disease severity and probable case numbers, raise questions about the prioritization of cases for litigation, with both sides aiming for favorable outcomes aligned with their respective interests.
