Florida Man Files Lawsuit Alleging Severe Injuries from Tepezza Infusions

In a recent legal action, a Florida man has brought forth a lawsuit claiming that he suffered severe and permanent injuries due to infusions of Tepezza, a medication used to treat thyroid eye disease. According to the lawsuit, the man was diagnosed with the eye disease and underwent a series of Tepezza infusions from February 25, 2022, to July 29, 2022, in Ohio. During this treatment period, neither the plaintiff nor his healthcare providers were warned or informed about the potential risk of Tepezza causing permanent hearing loss and/or tinnitus.

It wasn’t until July 2023 that information about Tepezza’s potential to cause permanent hearing damage became known, with no prior directives for baseline audiology testing or hearing acuity monitoring during treatment. As a result of the Tepezza infusions, the plaintiff now suffers from permanent hearing loss and tinnitus. Consequently, he is seeking compensation for the permanent injuries sustained from these infusions. The lawsuit highlights the importance of adequate warning and monitoring for potential side effects of medications like Tepezza.
